Mr. and Mrs. Mackay: Nick and I met at Best Buy (both of our former places of employment) in November of 2006. We got married on January 1, 2011. Yes, 1/1/11. Nick joined the National Guard in the fall of 2009. He left for basic training in January of 2010. Nick's basic training did not end until August of 2010, due to a femur fracture. During those long seven months, Nick and my main form of communication was through letters sent via "snail mail". We only got to talk on the phone once a week (if we were lucky), and they only lasted at most for 15 minutes. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend his basic graduation ceremony in Missouri. That is also the time that we became engaged. Nick is currently stationed in California. That's us in a nutshell!
